My Momma's Mashed Potatoes

~10 regular sized potatoes, peeled and cut into cubes
1 stick margarine
1/2 can evaporated milk
Salt
1 tablespoon salt

Place the potatoes in a pot. Add water to just cover the potatoes. Add salt to the water and boil the potatoes. The potatoes will be ready when you insert a fork in them and they break easily apart.
When the potatoes are ready, drain the water from the pot and put the margarine on top of the potatoes. It will begin to melt. With the milk on hand, take a handheld blender and begin to mash the potatoes. Gradually pour the milk in while you blend, but do not pour it all at one time. You may want to take breaks of pouring the milk so you can make sure the potatoes will come out smooth and delicious.
Once finished, you can add salt to taste. Mmmmm Good!

Some chef's tip: potatoes are more likely to get smooth if you mash them while they are hot.
